Newcastle Puppetry Festival debuted in 2017, winning The Journal Culture Award for ‘Best Newcomer’. Since then the event has run 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025. 

 

Next festival: 2026 festival not going ahead due to lack of funding. 2027 dates to pencil: 3-11th April 2027

The festival presents an international programme of theatre, workshops and outdoor arts for adults, children and families, including UK premieres and professional training.
