Newcastle Puppetry Festival debuted in 2017, winning The Journal Culture Award for ‘Best Newcomer’. Since then the event has run 2019, 2021 and 2023, with the next planned festival in 2024.

The festival presents an international programme of theatre, workshops and outdoor arts for adults, children and families, including UK premieres and professional training.
