Wind Garden

An art installation made by 300+ local residents and artists, celebrating stories that travel on the wind.

Moving Parts Arts ran 10 creative workshop days in February and March 2026 with intergenerational members of the public, and community groups including West End Refugee Service, Children North East, Lemington Scouts, Action Foundation and Twisting Ducks.

Participants created their own windmills and shared stories inspired by nature, wind power, community, and hopes for the future. We then commissioned Newcastle-based artist Chloe Rodham to design and build a kinetic sculpture to compliment participant creations. Together, all of these unique community artworks form Wind Garden.
