Artist submissions for programming are now open for Moving Parts: Newcastle Puppetry Festival 2023!

Subject to a successful Arts Council England bid (pending August 2022), the 4th Moving Parts: Newcastle Puppetry Festival will take place between Saturday 8th - Saturday 15th April 2023.

Moving Parts Arts is seeking applications from artists to deliver indoor shows, outdoor theatre, walkabouts, cabaret acts, sideshow, installations, masterclasses and workshops at the 2023 festival in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are interested in programming puppetry predominantly but will also consider visual theatre, sensory theatre, mask and some physical theatre. We programme work for adults, children, teens and families, as well as work made specifically for targeted groups.

Due to Brexit, we will not be able to programme as many international artists as we would like to so competition will be high for the handful of international slots we will have available.

We are especially keen to hear from artists who consider themselves from underrepresented groups within the creative industries workforce, including North East of England residents, people with disabilities, Global Majority artists and LGBTQIA+ people.

How to apply:

You can submit multiple applications for different proposals.
