An approach to all three basic elements that contribute to making a complete visual universe - Object, Universe and Life. OBJECT - puppet, mask, shadows; UNIVERSE - scenography, light and sound; LIFE - how these elements become animate. An exploratory laboratory, which examines through analysis, practice and experimentations, how a harmonious puppetry performance is created. Through improvisations and research on stage individually and in groups, participants will work on how to develop and realise an idea, all the way from scratch to the final desirable result. See here for Merlin Puppet Theatre's show at the festival, "Noone's Land".

The Stuff of Life
The OBJECT Project

Description
Content: Swearing, exploring death, sexual and adult themes
Have you ever woken in the middle of the night in a feverish torment, questioning your life choices, other people’s life choices, and the sheer pointlessness of it all? Well, you shall sleep soundly from this day forth. The Object Project is on a mission to interrogate, unpack and dissect the very fabric of existence and lay it before you in simple, often hilarious vignettes, enacted by a miscellany of beleaguered kitchen paraphernalia….mostly. If you saw the cheese grater act in the Moving Parts Puppet Cabaret at the 2023 festival this is that show, expanded into an epic of Hegelian proportions!
