About the event
Free Lantern Making Workshop with Moving Parts Arts & The Lantern Yard
Join us on Saturday 14th November, 11.30am-2pm for a free, fun, creative and relaxed workshop at Elswick Pool to make your very own light up Shining Star Lantern. Work with artists and learn how to construct a star from willow and paper before decorating it and adding the lights.
Workshop is free and suitable for young people aged 8+ and their adults. Places are pre-bookable but adults don’t need a ticket, and every child gets a free lunch.
Following the workshop, participants are invited to everyone meet again on Saturday 28th November at Newcastle City Library to take part in a community lantern parade through Newcastle’s Christmas Market, led by Moving Parts Arts and some of our favourite large-scale puppets including a beautiful barn owl and cheeky giant hare!
Workshop is part of Enchanted City at the Market;…
