7-day Marionette Making Course with Stephen Mottram
For ages 18+ / adults
During six days, participants will immerse themselves in the world of the string puppet. Each participant will make a marionette of Stephen’s own design, capable of an impressive range of movements including a realistic walk. The puppets will be made of wood and whilst it will help to have some experience of shaping and cutting wood, this is not essential. With care and attention to detail, even people with no woodworking experience will make a successful puppet.
The whole making process from block of wood to finished figure will be covered during the course, however since we will only have 7 days, some of the component parts will be pre-cut to save time.
