E2: OBJECT, UNIVERSE & LIFE IN PERFORMANCE
Merlin Puppet Theatre
SPACE SIX
Monday 8th - Tuesday 9th April 2019
10am - 5pm daily
Ages 18+ / adults
£120
An approach to all three basic elements that contribute to making a complete visual universe - Object, Universe and Life. OBJECT - puppet, mask, shadows; UNIVERSE - scenography, light and sound; LIFE - how these elements become animate. An exploratory laboratory, which examines through analysis, practice and experimentations, how a harmonious puppetry performance is created. Through improvisations and research on stage individually and in groups, participants will work on how to develop and realise an idea, all the way from scratch to the final desirable result. Moving Parts Arts is a seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help deliver 'Tyne Rising' as part of Newcastle Puppetry Festival 2021
Moving Parts Arts is a small organisation trying to do big things. As a non-for-profit we rely on volunteers to make the festival a reality and in exchange we can offer a unique experience like no other.
What is 'Tyne Rising'?
Set 50 years in the future, the River Tyne has burst its banks and giant sea creatures flood the city. The people of Tyneside need to band together to restore balance to the Toon.
‘Tyne Rising’ is a specially-commissioned outdoor theatre spectacle which will take place in City Stadium, Newcastle 21st and 22nd August 2021. The show will be directed by Andrew Kim with music written by Hannabiell Sanders. The ambitious event will feature giant puppets, a live band, a community chorus of performers and large-scale design elements. Audiences will be seated in 6-person bubbles and all tickets are Pay What You Can.
For more info on the show see here.
