Moving Parts: Newcastle Puppetry Festival 2021

 

Moving Parts Arts is excited to be able to offer one internship placement to a North East of England-based emerging producer looking to gain hand-ons experience in events management.

 

Location and dates 

The majority of the work will take place remotely online, aside from 16th - 22nd August where contact hours will take place in-person in Newcastle. 

 

The internship will take place on a flexible schedule between May - August 2021, but the successful applicant will be required to be available 16th - 22nd August.

 

Payment

£800 total (£10 per hour for 80 hours)

 

What will the internship look like?

The successful candidate will work alongside Kerrin Tatman (Artistic Director & Producer), Erin Conor (Marketing Director) and Louise Gregory (Production and Health & Safety Director) to assist in a broad range of tasks to help deliver the 2021 festival. The internship seeks to develop the skills and experience of an emerging producer to help prepare them for their next step forward working in the industry. The focus of this particular internship will be in producing outdoor live events and online digital events. 

 

This internship is made possible through funding from Andrew and Charlotte Dixon, managed by the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland.

 

What skill areas will be included in the internship?

Please note that the successful applicant does not need prior experience in all of these areas.

  • Marketing

  • Administration

  • Production and Health & Safety

  • People Management

  • Scheduling

  • Outdoor Events Management

  • Audience Experience and Evaluation

  • Adapting to Covid-19 restrictions

 

Who can apply?

Due to funding stipulations, the successful candidate must be based in the North East of England, which includes Co. Durham, Northumberland, Teesside and Tyne & Wear. We particularly welcome applications from those who feel their voices are underrepresented in the theatre and events industry. Applicants must be aged 18+.
